SECOND GRADE / Welcome to Second Grade

Mrs. Durham

I have been teaching here at West Hills for 15 years, most of these years in 2nd grade. I love seeing all the learning and growth that happens in 2nd grade. It has been great having many younger siblings of other students I have previously had. I have lived in Bremerton for most of this time and have recently moved to Port Orchard.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy doing agility with my dogs (I have 3 Australian Shepherds who love to come to visit if possible), hiking, and reading.

Mrs. Thorpe

I am new to the Bremerton School District, but have been a resident of the Pacific Northwest for most of my life. With the exception of a few years spent living in Guam and then in Washington D.C., my family and I returned to the West Coast last year and have been enjoying the mild Washington weather.

I love music and my favorite piece of all time is called the "Fanfare for the Common Man" by Aaron Copeland. I first heard this song during my freshman year of college and have loved it ever since.
