We are proud of our employees and the hard work and dedication shown everyday to help our students achieve! The “Act of Excellence” Award is designed to recognize those employees who provided outstanding service or made a meritorious contribution to the success of a particular department, program or team. The service or contribution must go well beyond normal duties, expectations and responsibilities. The honorees selected by the Selection Committee will receive recognition by the Board of Directors and one day of “Act of Excellence” Leave.

Meredith Myers, Bus Driver, Transportation

Meredith is actively engaged in the Kitsap community. She is a member of the local Search and Rescue team, she attends numerous committees representing the citizens of Bremerton; she serves as Secretary-Treasurer for her local union and represents her peers with pride; she is an excellent Special Services Bus Drivers, handling the many needs of her students; and she serves on the Board for the Kitsap County Fair. Through Meredith’s many connections in the community, she has been able to bring in additional work for bus drivers. For example, last summer Bremerton’s busses were seen shuttling fairgoers from the Kitsap Mall to the fairgrounds. Thank you, Meredith for your commitment to Bremerton’s kids and your profession.
Dennis Brennan, Shield Instructor, BHS

Mr. Brennan serves youth who are currently in the foster care system. He always goes above and beyond to provide for the diverse needs of each student. Within social service agencies, Mr. Brennan is known for his commitment to getting students back on track and focused on success. He attends team meetings and provides expertise on behavior management strategies as well as encouragement for academic success. Youth for Christ staff is very thankful for Mr. Brennan’s impact on the youth in the community.
Lori Campbell, District Information Systems Specialist, Administration

Lori is the Skyward/Web guru! In addition to answering the multitude of questions regarding the general use of Skyward, she provides each user with information on student registration, policy changes, creating and running reports. Lori is timely and accurate with information, but above all, even when working under pressure, she is extremely helpful and courteous. Lori is amazing in her ability to juggle the details of an extremely technical piece of software and still provide solid customer service. Thank you, Lori!
Taryn Krouse, Paraeducator, Youth Enrichment Program, AJ

Kayleen describes Taryn as having heart, compassion, and empathy for those students struggling with behavior. Last November, when one of the students lost his mother in a car accident, Taryn immediately began gathering activities for the student and his siblings. She gathered books and art supplies, delivering them on her day off. She also attended the funeral and provided unselfish support to this family. Thank you, Taryn, for making the grief of a child a bit easier.
Allyson Cundiff & Lori Prantil, Instructors, NAELC

Four afternoons a week, you’ll find Allyson and Lori helping students at Naval Avenue’s Homework Club. Realizing that many of Naval Avenue’s students do not have a quiet place at home to focus on assignments, Allyson and Lori looked at options for providing an environment free of disruptions. Thus, the Homework Club was born. Students get extra help with their assignments in a quiet place. This results in greater classroom success. Thank you, Allyson & Lori, for freely giving of your time in support of Bremerton’s kids.
