Superintendent Search Update

January 27, 2024

Dear Bremerton School District Community,

On behalf of the Bremerton School District Board, I’d like to share some updates and next steps in our superintendent search process, and invite you to be a part of the process!

Search firm selected: The directors have selected Ray & Associates as the search consultant that will coordinate the search for the next superintendent.

Community involvement: We are committed to a transparent and collaborative process in this search. We believe that community input is essential to selecting the next leader for our district.

Survey: We invite you to provide input through our brief survey. The survey is open to all staff, families and community members and will remain open through 8 a.m. on Monday, February 10.

Focus groups with staff, families and community representatives are scheduled for February 5 and 6. More information on these meetings will be shared and posted on our website in the coming days.

Results from the survey and focus groups will be used to help identify the desired characteristics for the new superintendent. The Board deeply values the feedback from those we serve and listening to our district and community is incredibly important. We look forward to engaging with our district staff, students, families and the Bremerton community in a meaningful way.

Timeline: The Board anticipates announcing the new superintendent in early April.

Stay tuned: As the search progresses, we will provide regular updates through various communication channels, including ParentSquare, the district website, social media, and our community e-newsletter.

Thank you for your continued support of our district and your participation in this important process.

Sincerely,

John Paul Hurley, President

On behalf of the Bremerton School District Board of Directors
