ParentSquare
ParentSquare provides a simple and safe way for everyone at school to connect, streamlining school-to-home communications.
Stay Connected with ParentSquare!
Bremerton School District uses ParentSquare as our primary platform for school communication. Families receive messages through email, app, voice, or text, helping everyone stay informed and involved.
An account is automatically created for each parent or guardian using the contact information in our student information system. We encourage you to activate your account to download the free mobile app, set your language preferences, and choose how and when you’d like to receive messages.
As a registered parent/guardian, you can:
- Receive updates from your school via email, app, or text notification
- Choose to get posts as they’re shared or bundled in a daily digest
- View posts, photos, calendars, and important announcements
- Communicate in your preferred language with automatic translation
- Comment on school posts and stay engaged with your school community
- Send direct messages to teachers and staff
- Participate in group conversations with other families

Make Sure Your Contact Information Is Up to Date
ParentSquare uses the contact information in SkywardQ to connect families with their ParentSquare accounts. Keeping your information up to date in SkywardQ helps ensure you receive communications in your preferred way.
We encourage all parents and guardians to log in to SkywardQ and check their contact information. Make sure your #1 phone number is a current mobile number if you would like to receive ParentSquare communications by text.
Keeping your contact information current in SkywardQ is one of the best ways to make sure you stay connected with your school through ParentSquare.
One important detail for text messages:
Each parent/guardian can have multiple phone numbers listed in SkywardQ, but ParentSquare imports only the #1 phone number.
- If your #1 phone number is a mobile number, ParentSquare can send you text messages.
- If your #1 phone number is not a mobile number, you will not automatically receive ParentSquare text messages.
- You can choose whether to receive text messages through your ParentSquare notification preferences.

- The Instant setting will send all post notifications in real-time.
- The Digest setting sends direct messages, alerts, and time-sensitive posts instantly, but sends all non-time sensitive posts at the end of the day, reducing the number of notifications you receive daily.

Parents can update their language preference for their account. Once they have done this, ParentSquare will automatically translate any communication to them in their selected language. This translation will also occur when the parent sends a message to a staff member. Learn more about ParentSquare translations and how to set the language preference.

Yes. ParentSquare is the primary tool for district and school communication and the system generates an account for all parents in SkywardQ.

If the parent’s #1 phone number is a mobile phone, parents will also receive text notifications (parents can choose to opt in or out of text messages in the ParentSquare app).
In the event of emergencies, phone calls will be sent as well.
