OSSI & WSIF Identification

Washington School Improvement Framework (WSIF)

The Bremerton School District schools have been  identified by The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) as qualifying for extra support under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).

The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) developed the Washington School Improvement Framework (WSIF) to identify schools for supports under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).

The WSIF measures schools with 11 indicators using data from the past five years to determine target areas to increase student achievement. The WSIF data for each school can be accessed on the Washington State Report Card. Based on these indicators, schools are identified in a “tier” and then can access levels of support from OSSI.

The supports offered schools will include Comprehensive Improvement Partners and region-specific resources from our local Educational Service District. Schools may also qualify to receive additional funds to target specific student learning needs.

We need your help! Each fall, schools will develop their School Improvement Plans, identifying student growth goals and activities for the new school year, in collaboration with staff, families, and community partners. If you are interested in participating in this process, please contact your school principal!
