Be Bremerton

be Bremerton: A Day of Service is a districtwide service event to show the Bremerton Community and the City of Bremerton our thanks for their tremendous support of the Bremerton School District and our students.

Thank you, volunteers!

Thank you to the estimated 150 volunteers who showed up on a wet, cold Saturday morning to beautify our city!  Thank you BHS Key Club and NJROTC students for their help with event set-up and check-in, and to Seaside Church for providing lunch for all volunteers!  We look forward to seeing everybody at be Bremerton 2025!

Be Bremerton FAQ

  • be Bremerton: A Day of Service is a districtwide service event to show the Bremerton community and the City of Bremerton our thanks for their tremendous support of the Bremerton School District and our students.

On the morning of Saturday, May 4, BSD students, staff, families and volunteers will gather at Evergreen Rotary Park, and then break-up into teams to clean up downtown Bremerton before the annual Armed Forces Day parade and celebration!

  • We’ll gather at Evergreen Rotary Park and then teams will head downtown to pick up trash, pull weeds, and sweep sidewalks in an assigned area.

  • Look for the three sign-up buttons above for 1) team leaders; 2) adults/secondary students; and 3) families with elementary students.

  • No - but it is strongly encouraged. It allows us to have groups established and team leaders assigned before the event which expedites the check-in process at the event.

  • Yes! Groups are welcome and encouraged!  Let those on your team know to list their team or friends’ names when they sign-up online.

  • Yes! Just show up and we’ll assign you to an existing team!

  • Yes!  We ask that all elementary students be accompanied by an adult (which is why there is a separate sign-up for elementary families).

  • Volunteer check-in starts at 8:30 (Team Leaders are asked to arrive by 8). The event will wrap-up at 12 noon if you choose to stay for lunch. If not, you’ll be on your way by 11:15ish! See the complete schedule here

  • We suggest volunteers bring:

    • gardening or work gloves
    • garden/hand tools
    • brooms / dustpans
    • water to stay hydrated (especially if the weather is warm)
    • your friends and family!
  • A limited supply of FREE t-shirts will be available. If you have participated in the past and still have your t-shirt, wear it to be entered into a drawing for a caramel apple from Amy's Decadent Chocolates (owned by a Bremerton High School graduate!)
