Student board representatives play a vital role in ensuring student voices are heard at the highest level of decision-making.
The Bremerton School District is proud to have two student representatives on the School Board.
Each spring a junior will be selected to join the Board and the senior representative at its September 2024 meeting and begin their 2-year term.
In this way, each year will begin with one experienced and one new/incoming Student Representative to the Board.
These student leaders play a vital role in ensuring student voices are heard at the highest level of decision-making. They bring a unique perspective to the Board, providing valuable insights into student experiences and concerns.
The students serve in an advisory capacity and may cast non-binding, advisory votes on items the Board is considering. They contribute by providing student insight and perspective on decisions that affect students.
As a part of their role, these students serve as a liaison for the Bremerton High School Associated Student Body and report to students about the work of the Board and District activities.
Student Board Representatives give a report to the board at each meeting, highlighting current Bremerton High School events, activities.
Student Board Representatives are asked to give an advisory vote to all motions under consideration by the board.
Student Board Representatives are encouraged to provide feedback and share student ideas and concerns with the board.
