Coming in Fall 2025: Armin Jahr’s Interim School Campus

3/14/25 update

We're thrilled to share some exciting updates as we progress with the design, planning, and early preparations for the construction of our new Armin Jahr Elementary School!

As you know, Armin Jahr and View Ridge will be built concurrently, with construction scheduled to begin in the fall. Our target move-in date for the new Armin Jahr school building is December 2026. Due to site limitations, Armin Jahr will be rebuilt on its current site, necessitating the demolition of the existing school.

This means we will be learning together in a secure interim campus adjacent to the East Bremerton Community Gym starting this fall. We want to share some key highlights with you now, and assure you that more detailed information will be provided throughout the spring and summer.

Interim campus highlights:

Modular buildings: As shown in the rendering on the right, in addition to the gym, the campus will feature comfortable modular buildings for classrooms, the office, the library, and more.
Modern facilities: Restrooms will have running water and flushable toilets. The gym will be used for PE, lunches and
Security: Student safety is our top priority. The campus will be secured with perimeter fencing and security cameras throughout.

We are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible for our students and families and will continue to update our families and community through the spring and summer.

Transportation Information

Bus transportation

Bus transportation will be provided for all Armin Jahr students who live within the Armin Jahr boundaries.

For safety reasons, walking to and from the interim campus will not be permitted.
All current Armin Jahr bus routes will continue to operate next fall. In addition, we will be adding an additional route for students who normally walk to school. Route information will be posted by late July.
Transportation will not be provided for open enrollment or choice transfer students.

Parent drop-off and pick-up:

Parent drop-off and pick-up is located behind Saar’s Grocery store in front of the school office:
- Enter the parking lot via Cherry Avene and E 30th Street (see above).
- Use the designated car turn-around.
- Exit down Spruce Avenue.
Please help us be good neighbors and do not cut through the Saar’s parking lot.
On-campus parking will be limited, but there is street parking within walking distance.
