A proud Army Veteran who served in Desert Storm, Shannon Turner chose to make Washington State his home after his service. For over a decade in Kitsap County, he has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to community advocacy and leadership. His extensive involvement includes seven years on the Kitsap Community Resources (KCR) Parent Policy Council and a four-year term on the KCR Board, where he served as both President and Vice President. He further dedicated himself to public service as Student Body President at Olympic College and later as the Executive Legislative Assistant for former State Representative Sherry Appleton. Currently, Shannon remains highly active in equity and community development, serving as Chair of the 23rd LD Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, Co-Chair of the Puget Sound Regional Committee's Equity Advisory Committee, and on the Kitsap County Disability Committee. Shannon, who is married with four children, lives by the principle that his work is never about status, but always about serving the people and ensuring his community's needs are met.
