We Are Bremerton!

A bond program update for the Bremerton School District community

January 15, 2024

Things are moving right along with our Bond Program!

The validation phase for the Armin Jahr and View Ridge Elementary replacement projects has been successfully completed, confirming the feasibility of our plans, budgets, and timelines. Next, we move into schematic design, where the design team will bring our ideas to life by developing initial building concepts.

Both schools will be built simultaneously with construction scheduled to start this summer/fall with target move-in dates in December 2026.

View Ridge Elementary Arts Academy (VR) will not be torn down and students will remain in the current building during construction of the new school near the existing building.

Armin Jahr Elementary (AJ): Due to site limitations and wetlands surrounding the school, Armin Jahr will be replaced on its current site. Students and staff will temporarily relocate to a secure, interim school campus adjacent to the East Bremerton Community Gym during construction. An advisory working group has been established to support a smooth transition for students, families, and staff.

Thank you!

We are so thankful for the hundreds of family members, staff, and community members who have generously invested their time and provided invaluable input throughout this process so far. This participation is instrumental in shaping the future of our schools.

Get involved. Stay informed.

There will be many opportunities for staff, family and community to get updates and information, provide feedback and ask questions as we move forward. The first is our community open house on Monday, January 27 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the East Bremerton Community Gym.

We invite you to join us to:

  • Learn more about our target timeline and preliminary plans for VR and AJ students and staff during the construction process.

  • Get a sneak peek of the Armin Jahr interim school campus facilities and layout.

  • Learn about progress on other bond projects including district-wide HVAC, construction of the new consolidated facilities building, and the relocation of Renaissance High School.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend!
